Did you know that thousands of people have a chance to improve their career by getting education with Erasmus+ projects which is known as “Lifelong Learning Programme” previously? “Erasmus+” is an Europe Union programme for supporting education, training, sports and it has a budget of 14 billion dollars. The programme aims to give a chance for volunteering abroad to more than 4 million European people. Furthermore there is no age limit, except for youth projects, for participating in these projects. You can apply to projects individually or as a representor of an organization. Those who represent an organization can find a chance for familiarising their organizations and projects to public. Also a lot of participants can have new projects and partnership ideas after the projects. None of the participants pay anything for transportation, accommodation or food.
Erasmus+ projects have three key action points: Key Point 1 focuses on “Mobility of Individuals”. Youth Changes and Europe Voluntary Services are examples of these projects. Second key point action calls as “Cooperation for Innovation and the Exchange of Goof Practises” and it has the projects which aims strategic partnership. Third key point action is “Support for Policy Reform”: these projects mainly aim to shape the political actions about young people and constitute more democratic societies.
Erasmus+ projects can be short term and long term as Europe Voluntary Services (EVS). In these projects young people (aged between 18-30) work for a voluntary project outside of their countries. EVS projects which lasts anything from 2 to 12 months, aims to develop social cohesion, decrease stereotypes and prejudices and increase lenience.
Starting with a short term project would be a good first step for those of people who enter the Erasmus+ world recently. “The Power of Non Formal Education – 2018-Training Course” in Belgium, “An introduction on how to use the “Erasmus+Youth in Action Programme” in Holland, or “Different views and new narratives – (Re)Thinking Bridges between Young People in Germany and Turkey” in Germany -which I also found a chance for participating- could be good examples of projects.
